Cinnabon Cinnamon Streusel Recipe...with Del Monte Peaches #SmartSnack (2024)

I think that the hardest part of getting ready for the new school year is getting back into the school day routine. Part of that routine is waking Angeline up for school and having breakfast together...and because high school starts at 7:30, as opposed to 9 like middle school, I know that I will not have time to cook breakfast anymore! So...I have a feeling I will be making many variations of this Cinnabon cinnamon streuselrecipe this upcoming school year!

I love cooking with box mixes to save time when I am in a rush. A great way to spice up a box mix is to check and see what other recipe recommendations are listed on the side panels or bottom of the box. I bought a box of Cinnabon streusel muffin mix and decided to try the quick bread recipe on the bottom of the box - and to add in some delicious Del Monte peaches to make it a little more healthy and delicious!

I headed down to Walmart this week to pick up some back to school supplies for Angeline and grabbed some Del Monte fruit cups while I was there! You can read all about my shopping trip in this Google+ album. Aside from them being the perfect throw-in for my baking experiments, Del Monte fruit cups are a great way to fit in a healthy snack after school - or even to put into the kid's lunch boxes! Walmart had a ton of options for me to choose from!

I chose the new Del Monte Peaches with brown sugar and cinnamon - I thought it would be perfect for a Cinnabon Cinnamon Streusel recipe or a quick breakfast bread recipe!

This is so easy to make! Just mix a package of Cinnabon Streusel with ⅓ cup flour, 2 eggs, ⅓ cup oil and ½ cup water...

Then add your Del Monte diced peaches...

Pour your batter into a greased loaf fan and preheat your oven to 375 degrees...

Add another cup of Del Monte diced peaches on top of the prepared batter and smooth them evenly.

Then sprinkle with the Cinnabon Streusel topping!

Pop it in the oven at 375 degrees for 60-65 minutes. Now, the box says 40-50 minutes BUT since you are adding fruit, there will be extra moisture in the batter. It is going to take longer to cook than the regular mixture alone. Mine took about 60 minutes and the center was light, moist and fluffy!

This Cinnabon Cinnamon Streusel recipe that I turned into a Peach and Cinnamon Breakfast Bread was SO GOOD! I love that I can make it on Sunday and Angeline and I can have a great little breakfast ready-made for two or three school days!

I am also going to experiment with other muffin mixes and quick bread recipes - with all of the Del Monte fruit cup varieties, the possibilities are endless!

How's that for a #SmartSnack?

I tried this for breakfast today and it was simple and yummy! The Betty Crocker box had a mistake on the directions though. 😉 It wasn't a big deal...it had water in the ingredients list but said milk in the instructions. I guessed and went with water and it turned out great! Thanks for sharing!
